The Casualties have shared details of their first new album in eight years.

'Detonate' will arrive digitally on March 27 via the New York Punk veterans' new label home at Hellcat Records, the influential label founded by Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong. Vinyl and CD editions will follow on July 17.

Alongside the announcement, the band — singer David Rodriguez, drummer Marc “Meggers” Eggers, guitarist Jake Kolatis and bassist Doug Wellmon — have shared the record's title track, a breakneck punk-rock song that tackles frustrations with society in under 90 seconds. Eggers said:

"It stems from being overloaded. You feel like your head is about to explode, which I think is what everybody is feeling these days. You’re pounced on day by day with terrible news and social media, and you just feel like you’re going to snap."

The album will also include the lead single People Over Power, which dropped in January, marking their first new music since 2018.

"There are continuous wars and internal political battles," shared Kolatis about the new record."Everybody’s tearing each other apart. Detonate is saying we’re tired of all this division. With this record, we have a chance to say something and promote some type of unity."

Rodriguez added: "I want people to feel empowered when they hear this record. I want them to feel like they have a voice. I want them to feel like they’re with like-minded people when they come to a Casualties show. They can be themselves and not watch the show but be part of the show—scream with us, jump off the stage. We want them to feel like they’re part of something."

The Casualties will support the LP with a North American tour this spring, kicking off shortly after its release. They'll also headline Scarborough Punk Festival in the UK on March 29 alongside Sham 69, and perform shows across Europe in the summer. Head here for details.

Their most recent album is 2018's 'Written In Blood', though they released a live studio record titled 'Until Death: Studio Sessions' in 2019, featuring new live versions of their classic tracks.
