The former Rage Against The Machine guitarist will release 'Everyone Gets Everything They Want' on September 25 via Mom+Pop Music. Produced by Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey and Sam Nelson Harris, the 12-track album is described as Morello's "first solo rock album".
The record tackles themes of fascism, immigration and political division,and features guest appearances from Kneecap, Beartooth and System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian, who contibuted to the recent single Adjourn It alongside Morello's 15-year-old son Roman Morello, who also has writing credits on five songs.
Alongside the album announcement, Morello has shared the new single Date Night, a politically-charged rocker that recounts the true story of three Dutch resistance fighters during World War II, sisters Truus and Freddie Oversteegen and their friend Hannie Schaft, who seduced Nazi officers and killed them in the woods. Morello said:
"I make anti-racist songs for anti-racists. I make anti-fascist songs for anti-fascists. And I make anti-Nazi songs for anti-Nazis. 'Date Night' is really a 'which side are you on?' song. If any of that offends you, do the math. Oh, and Roman Morello wrote the killer riff in this tune."
The new record will also feature his previous singles Everything Burns featuring Beartooth, Pretend You Remember Me, and Solider In The Army Of Love with Roman.
After recently appearing at the Newport Folk Festival, Morello is set to play Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky in September, before curating and performing at the sold-out Power To The People festival in Maryland on October 3, alongside Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Jack Black, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill and Killer Mike, with a special appearance from Bruce Springsteen.
His latest solo albums are 'The Atlas Underground Fire' and 'The Atlas Underground Flood', both released in 2021.
