ImageWith hair that had almost as much personality as the band, Europe, Sweden’s biggest hard rock band and makers of the near-mythical ballad ‘The Final Countdown’ (da da-da daaa) has just confirmed a nationwide 9-date tour of the UK in February 2010. Click here for tickets.

Very special guest on all UK dates is Diamond Head; a boy with a head shaped like a diamond due to a rare birth defect, who will be juggling machetes and demonstrating his world-renowned sushi-making abilities. Ok, maybe not; Diamond Head are an awesome British heavy metal band who inspired the likes of Metallica and Megadeath.

Europe’s new, critically thumbed-up, studio album ‘Last Look at Eden’ is was released on the 14th September, including the single of the title and ‘New Love in Town’. Europe has developed musically and have a sound described as a “heavier, bluesy, hip-shaking metal sound.” They recently performed at Bloodstock where everyone loved them.

No mention was made of how everyone felt about the bands’ hair which has a solo album coming out for Christmas.

Dates include –
Feb 18 - Leeds O2 Academy
Feb 19 - Birmingham O2 Academy
Feb 20 - London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Feb 22 - Oxford O2 Academy
Feb 23 - Bournemouth O2 Academy
Feb 24 - Bristol O2 Academy
Feb 26 - Manchester Academy
Feb 27 - Newcastle O2 Academy
Feb 28 - Glasgow O2 ABC

Tickets go on sale Friday 18th September at 9am.
