Grandaddy are an American indie rock from Modesto, California, consisting of frontman Jason Lytle, bass player Kevin Garcia, drummer Aaron Burtch, guitarist Jim Fairchild, and Tim Dryden on keyboards.
Formed in 1992, the band released their debut album, ‘Under the Western Freeway’, in 1997, which led to the band signing with V2. The band released their second album, ‘The Sophtware Slump’ in 2000, which reached #36 in the UK Albums Chart and featured the single, The Crystal Lake. Their third album, ‘Sumday’, came out in 2003, and they released ‘Just Like the Fambly Cat’ in 2006, before disbanding. The band reformed in 2012 and are set to release their latest album, ‘Last Place’, on March 3, 2017.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK, and have supported the likes of Elliott Smith, and Coldplay, as well as appearing at festivals such as Glastonbury and End of the Road.
