NOFX are an American punk rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California, now based in San Francisco. Formed in 1983, and consisting of frontman Fat Mike guitarists El Hefe and Eric Melvin, and drummer Erik Sandin, they’re considered one of the pioneers of punk music.
Created after Melvin met Fat Mike back in the early ‘80s, NOFX - named after another band, hardcore outfit Negative FX - would go on to record demos that are today considered collector’s items. However, it was their eagerness to tour and perform that first earned them their reputation, even continuing their first national tour after its headline act, Dr Know, had pulled out.
Known for their tendency to rarely undertake interviews or release music videos in favour of letting their music and gigs do the talking, the band have released twelve studio albums to date, achieving more and more popularity as years went by.
Today, they boast album sales of over six million, and without doubt an iconic name in the scene, and are still going as strong as ever. Having performed in the UK in late summer 2014, they returned in June and July 2015 for a co-headline tour alongside Alkaline Trio, with Lagwagon for support.
Having toured across the US on tour in spring 2016, NOFX would head home to spend time in the studio working their new record, 'Six Years on Dope'. Eventually hitting shelves in October 2016, it was followed by another set of North American tour dates.
Next up, NOFX play Download Festival Australia in March 2018, as well as some headline sideshows in Brisbane and Sydney. They've also lined up a brace of June shows in London and Birmingham. If you fancy catching one of the shows, check below to find the dates and tickets via Stereoboard!
