Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott are a British indie pop duo, best known as former members of The Beautiful South.
Having enjoyed a number of successful years together as members of the Beautiful South, including releasing the albums 'Miaow', 'Blue Is The Colour' and 'Quench', the pair would eventually part ways, as Heaton embarked on a solo career. However, years later the pair would reunite for a UK tour and new album, 'What Have We Become'. During the tour the pair performed new material, Beautiful South classics, and also songs from Heaton's days as frontman of the Housemartins.
The duo released their second album, ‘Wisdom, Laughter and Lines‘, in 2015. Their third album, ‘Crooked Calypso’, dropped in July 2017 via EMI, and the duo toured this album across the UK and Ireland in 2017 supporting it.
The Forestry Commission are putting on live shows in forests around the country, and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott have now been confirmed as the first headliners, with support from Billy Bragg, next summer. They've also confirmed to perform as part of Sounds of the City at Manchester's Castlefield Bowl in July. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information on Stereoboard below.
