The Ryder Cup Gala is a brand new live music and entertainment event that will celebrate the launch of the 2014 Ryder Cup, which will this year take place in Gleneagles Hotel in Perth & Kinross, Scotland.
The Ryder Cup itself is a biennial (occurring once every two years!) golf tournament which sees a team of players representing both Europe and the USA competing to lift the prestigious Ryder Cup, which was first established back in 1927. Highlighting the competition hitting Scotland, DF Concerts will be putting on a massive event at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro arena on September 24 that will see names like Jake Bugg, Texas, Twin Atlantic, Midge Ure, Nina Nesbitt, and more performing alongside artists from the RSNO, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera and the National Theatre of Scotland. Described by man-in-charge Geoff Ellis - who has enlisted Take That and Olympic Games closing ceremony creative director Kim Gavin to curate the event - as a ‘cultural smorgasbord of entertainment’, it’s not to be missed.
