Sam Fender is an indie rock musician hailing from Newcastle. Having grown up in a household of musicians, he piked up a guitar at the age of 10 and was writing songs by 13. After playing in busking slots in small pubs for years, he eventually got noticed by the manager of Ben Howard, Owain Davies, who gave him a leg up into the business.

Ulster Hall is a concert and music venue based on Bedford Street, Belfast. First opened way back in 1862, it boasts a capacity of 1,650, and is one of the city's most popular halls, despite not being the largest. Owned by the Belfast council, it was renovated in 2009.
