Slim Twig (a.k.a Max Turnbull) is an experimental songwriter and producer from Ontario, Canada.

Coming from an art school background, Turnball spent some time as an actor, before developing Slim Twig, in the mid-2000s. He has also produced film scores, played guitar in punk band Tropics, and makes additional solo work under the name Archaic Women.

He self-released his music, until 2008, when Paper Bag Records released the EPs, ‘Derelict Dialect’, and ‘Vernacular Violence’, and later repackaged them as an album. His first proper LP, ‘Contempt!’ was released in 2009. He continued to release EPs and short run cassettes on his own and with Tropics, as well as collaborating with U.S. Girls' Meghan Remy. The pair shared some split releases, and toured together, as well as starting a label and getting married in 2012. That year he released his second album, ‘Sof’ Sike’, and as well as his complex concept album ‘A Hound At The Helm’, which had a small run on his Calico Corp label, and was reissued in 2014 by DFA.

Lately he has released his fourth album, ‘Thank You for Stickin'’ in 2015 and you can see him live when he plays two shows in the UK this December. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information below.
