The Basics are are an Australian rock outfit hailing from Melbourne. Formed in 2002, the band consists of founding members Wally De Backer - aka superstar Gotye - and Kris Schroeder on drums and bass respectively, alongside guitarist Tim Heath.
Described as one of their country’s hardest-working bands, they’ve released seven studio albums in their 10+ year career, most recently with ‘My Brain’s Off (And I Like It)’ in 2013.
