They Might Be Giants, aka TMBG, are an American alternative rock and indie outfit, with members hailing from Lincoln, Massachusetts and Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 1982, it originally consisted of just John Flansburgh and John Linnell, who were accompanied by a drum machine, but after deciding to recruit a backing band in the 90s, they're now running as a five piece.
Releasing their eponymous debut album in 1986, the band became a prolific studio fixture, releasing records every two to three years for their entire career and once breaking into the UK Top 40.
As of 2017, they've released 19 studio albums, including the latest offering, 'Phone Power', which was released in 2016. In between those records they still found much time to tour.
The band have now announced the release of 'I Like Fun', a new 15-track album to be released January 19 2018. Alongside this, they've announced an extensive world tour includeing 13 European dates and 6 UK shows, as well as North American dates - including their first at London’s prestigious Barbican Centre!
