Yo La Tengo are an American alternative rock band formed in 1984 in New Jersey. The band was formed as a husband/wife duo, with Ira Kaplan on guitar, piano and vocals and Georgia Hubley on drums, piano and vocal. They've had 14 bass players since forming, but James McNew has been a solid member of the team on bass since 1992's 'May I Sing With Me'.
The band are cult favourites and have put out 14 full length records, including their 1986 debut, 'Ride The Tiger', right the way through to 2015's 'Stuff Like That There'. Their highest charting album was 2013's 'Fade', which reached #26 in the US albums chart.
They returned to the UK in the autumn of 2015 to play a handful of shows, but now they're back with a UK tour in spring of 2018, as well as shows across Europe and North America. The shows mark the first European appearances and full-fledged tour since the release of 2015's 'Stuff Like That There'.
It's set to be a busy year for Yo La Tengo with two Hakcney dates in the diary for February 2019 already - keep up to date with the band's news by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
