A are an alternative rock band from Suffolk, who formed in 1993 by founding members twins Jason and Adam Perry and their friend Mark Chapman, with Stevie Swindon and the twins' younger brother Giles Perry.
They cited Rush, The Beach Boys, Van Halen and the Beastie Boys among their influences. After signing to Warner Bros Records in 1996, they released their debut album, 'How Ace Are Buildings', in 1997. Desipte achieving some recognition, bassist Stevie Swindon left he band, and they replaced him with Daniel P Carter, who by now has been replayed by Dougie Poynter of McFly. Their sophomore record 'A vs. Monkey Kong' followed in 1999 with a world tour, particular success in Germany, and a live album. 'Hi-Fi Serious', their most famous record, hit shelves in 2002, featuring the top ten single Nothing. After another record in 2005, the band went on haitus, and the members pursued different things. In 2007 A reunited for a one-off gig, and have been touring sporadically ever since, most recently playing Download Festival 2015. Rock band A will play 'Hi Fi Serious' in full on their upcoming 2018 UK tour dates, with support from Wheatus and InMe.
