Bjork is an Icelandic singer-songwriter, musician and actress from Reykjavík, now living in New York, USA.
Starting her music career in 1987, as a member of The Sugarcubes, the band released three albums before they disbanded in 1992. Aside from a self-titled album she released as a child, her first solo album, ‘Debut’ came out in 1993, which hit #3 in the UK Albums Chart and featured the singles Human Behaviour and Big Time Sensuality. It was followed by ‘Post’ in 1995, which reached #2 in the UK chart and #32 in the Billboard Hot 200.
‘Homogenic’ was released in 1997 and peaked at #4 in the UK and #28 in the USA. ‘Vespertine’ followed in 2001, ‘Medúlla’ in 2004, ‘Volta’ in 2007, ‘Biophilia’ in 2011, and her latest, ‘Vulnicura’ in 2015.
Bjork had sold over 15 million records by 2003, and she's garnered a high level of acclaim: winning four BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and 13 Grammy Awards.
In 2017, Bjork released the single The Gate, which received a lot of airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music. It comes as the first cut from her forthcoming album, 'Utpoia', due for release on November 24, 2017.
Björk has now been confirmed to headline the brand new All Points East Festival in May 2018, where she'll be preceded by sets from Beck, Father John Misty, Flying Lotus 3D, Sylvan Esso, and more, alongside other acts LCD Soundsystem, The xx, Lorde, and Sampha, as well as loads more! She'll then headline a show at the Eden Project as part of the Eden Sessions in July, having re-scheduled the date.
