Catfish and the Bottlemen are a Welsh indie-rock band from Llandudno, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Van McCann, guitarist Johnny ‘Bondy’ Bond, bassist Benji Blakeway and drummer Bob Hall.
Formed in 2007, the band made a name for themselves thanks to non-stop gigging, performing over 100 gigs in 18 months throughout 2012 and 2013. Soon after they earned themselves a deal with Island Records, who released the band’s debut album, 'The Balcony', in 2014. The album reached #10 on the UK's Official Albums Chart and the band went on to tour extensively through the winter months. The band won Best Breakthrough Artist at the Brit Awards in 2016 and in May of that year released their second album, ‘The Ride’, which hit #1 on the UK chart. Their latest LP is 2019's 'The Balance'. Catfish And The Bottlemen will play Reading & Leeds Festival in August. This is ahead of their rescheduled headline shows at Swansea's Singleton Park and Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington, in September 2021.
