Swedish new-wave band The Sounds have been away writing and recording their new album 'Something to Die For' (out June 6th). To coincide with this album release, they have announced a live show at Club NME, KOKO (London) on Friday May 13th. The last time The Sounds played on British turf was 2 years ago, when they played to a sold out Islington Academy.

Tinie Tempah has confessed that he recently spent some ‘quality time’ with a lady friend while listening to his own music. The chart-topping rapper confessed to The Sun recently that the incident was unintentional, putting it down to his iPod’s shuffle feature and a bad sense of timing.

U2 are currently working on a “futuristic” sounding follow-up to their 2009 effort ‘No Line On The Horizon’. According to RedOne, the producer of the as-of-yet untitled LP, the album will see U2 moving in a new direction and "going Sci-fi".

Noel Gallagher has rejected a substantial offer to replace Simon Cowell on the Judge’s panel in the next UK series of hit singing competition ‘The X Factor’. According to reports, the ex-Oasis singer was approached by Cowell with a ‘blank cheque’ offer, and was asked to ‘name his price’ to appear on the show.

Lady Gaga has unveiled behind-the-scenes video footage of herself preparing for a performance and confronting a homophobic religious protester. The video, which is part of the singer’s ‘Gagavision’ series sees Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) confront a protester after being handed a derisive “Get Out Of Hell Free” card.

The Recording Academy, the body responsible for the annual Grammy Awards ceremony, has announced that they have made a number of major changes to the formatting of the Awards. The Academy have announced that they will be reducing the number of categories and also attempting to make gender less of a factor in future ceremonies.

Hercules and Love Affair, Atari Teenage Riot and Patrick Wolf have all been announced as the latest additions to the line-up of this year’s Springfestival in Graz, Austria. They will join the previously-confirmed acts including The Jungle Brothers, Crystal Fighters, Caribou and London Elektricity. Springfestival is an urban music event that mixes electronic music, workshops, showcases and culture. This year’s festival takes place 1st – 5th June.

The Isle of Wight-based group, who released their fourth album ‘Every Step’s A Yes’ in 2010, will join previously-announced headliner Fleet Foxes and Irish folk band Villagers for their date on 1st July.

Despite the lukewarm response to ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace’ in 2007 Foo Fighters have spent the ensuing years establishing themselves as a Worldwide stadium rock band and ‘Wasting Light’, which will be released on April 11th, has had a bigger sense of anticipation than anything they’ve done previously.
