New breakthrough pop-star Jessie J has taken a dig at the British pop scene – by claiming Lady Gaga has made British pop-stars seem boring.
The singer had just received the Brit Awards gong as Critic’s choice, and is currently occupying the 2nd spot in the charts with track ‘Do It like a Dude’, but has labelled the state of British pop ‘rubbish'.
The 22 year old said this about the scene - "The British music scene is rubbish right now. There are no artists pushing boundaries. There are no female artists in the UK that mix things up. I didn't come into this to be a puppet. I've got a lot to prove and I'm here for a reason and I'm going to make a point."
She laid some of the blame on American pop icon Lady Gaga, and went on to say "Of course Gaga is incredible but she's set the bar so high for everyone else. She's made normal artists and music 'boring' which really bothers me. It pissed me off when people say Leona's boring. No she's not.”
