Reading and Leeds Festival Will Announce 'Extraordinary' Lineup

Fans of the summer festivals of Britain are in for a treat this year, after Melvin Benn, head of Reading and Leeds Festival, announced that this year’s line up will be ‘staggeringly good’.

He also admitted that he has already got three headliners confirmed – and described them as ‘extraordinary’. Last year’s headline acts drew a lot of attention, with Arcade Fire, Guns n Roses and Blink 182 atop of the bill last year – but Benn hasn’t revealed the names of the confirmed bands yet.

The headliners will also be exclusive the festival this year, with not one of the three bands playing any other festivals this summer.

There are many rumours circulating around the web of who will be playing Reading and Leeds, as there are every year. Band Funeral Party have confirmed themselves to be the playing at Reading and Leeds on BBC radio. The top rumoured bands to be performing at the festivals are Muse, My Chemical Romance and the Foo Fighters.

Benn has also spoken about ticket sales for the two festivals, saying tickets would ultimately be more expensive this year, but there there is "not a very big increase". Though with the way he is describing the festival this year, it could turn out to be more than worth the money!

Tickets will be on sale at some point in March, to ensure they do not clash with the sale of the 2012 Olympics tickets.
