Katy Perry Releases Acoustic Version Of 'The One That Got Away'

Superstar singer Katy Perry has recorded an acoustic version of her hit single ‘The One That Got Away’, in an attempt to beat Michael Jackson’s record for the most #1 singles from one album.

Perry has already equalled Jackson’s record of having five #1 singles in the Hot 100 from the same album, with the Californian hitting the top of the charts with ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘California Gurls’, ‘Firework’, ‘E.T’ and ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’, but her sixth single ‘The One That Got Away’ only managed to hit #3. But, following her split from ex-husband Russell Brand, Perry has record a more emotional acoustic version in an attempt to get that sixth #1.

The release of the acoustic version, which is now available to download in iTunes, follows the release of a remix of the track by rapper B.o.B, which was also an attempt by the label to try and secure the last #1. The move to try and get the track to the top of the charts has received a lot of criticism, but the new acoustic version has come out to favourable reviews. You can check it out below – let us know what you think of the track.

In other Katy Perry news, the star has signed a deal with Electronic Arts to appear in new version of the Sims video games, where she’ll re-record 2009’s ‘Hot N Cold’ in the famous ‘Simlish’ language. Perry is happy with the deal and said: “I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I'm a Sim.”
