Bear Driver - Big Love (Single Review)

A sound is not just a sound; it is something that gets you moving and your ears pricking up. Bear Driver, a five-piece band from London, have jumped straight in and pulled out a great single; ‘Big Love’.

ImageIf you haven’t heard Bear Driver before, then you will be in for a treat. Their existence in the music industry is increasing vastly and their new single incorporates something much more than previous releases.

The track is made up by three minutes and five seconds of pure edgy guitar riffs and smooth vocals combined with that exciting indie pop sound. Bear Driver has taken it up another notch with this phenomenal release. It’s raw indie pop at its best. It is most definitely a track that you can dance to, the vocals expel throughout you body. Bear Driver have brought that Northern Leeds charm with their music. Although now based in London, it is clear that the move has influenced their sound.

They write pop songs, but ‘Big Love’ is mesmerising – something to get you out of bed in the morning. ‘Big Love’ is quick and upbeat, putting a beat in your step and getting you rocking around in the summer sun. Its melody is to die for, it’s warm and exciting and you can’t but help wonder what they’ve got in store for us next.

Front man Oli Deakin, has a voice that you can keep on repeat. It fills you with a burst of energy, and you can’t help but move around to the unforgettable sound. They sound like an edgier Arcade Fire, thrown in with a bit of Bombay Bicycle Club. It is hypnotising music, full of sounds that just want to make you get into the summer spirit.

Bear Driver is a band that should be listened to, with a spring release; they are bound to be a summer hit.
