Beth Orton has announced she will take her ‘folktronica’ sound on the road this winter, with the singer-songwriter confirming a 7-date tour for November and December. Beth Orton Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday.
Blending slow, dreamy songs with trip-hop breaks, folky guitar and haunting vocals, Beth Orton was recognised by producing guru William Orbit when she sang on his 'Strange Cargo' albums.
Effortlessly bringing her Neil Young, Joni Mitchell 70s folk influence through to the noughties, Beth Orton is planning to release a new album in 2012. It will be her first studio record since 'Comfort of Strangers', released in 2006, and follows her most recent trip to the recording studio where she contributed to The Beatles 'Let It Be' tribute album.
