Metallica Streaming Master of Puppets From 'Through The Never' Film Soundtrack

Thursday, 05 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Metallica are streaming a brand new live version of their monster track Master of Puppets.

The new rendition is taken from their forthcoming new 3D concert/feature film Through the Never, which hits US IMAX cinemas on September 27, and also features on the OST.

The soundtrack is a two disc soundtrack CD set that will be released on the band's own record label Blackened Recordings on September 23 and highlights last year's career spanning sets at Rexall Place in Edmonton and Rogers Arena in Vancouver, where the band filmed  a load of the footage featured in the film.

The film is set to be a must-see for fans and features a surreal story about a Metallica roadie tasked with a special mission, with actual footage from Metallica gigs intertwined.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Lars Ulrich said:

“Let's hear it for the old-school soundtrack! Not only are we beyond psyched about our movie coming your way shortly, but the fact that we get to share the music directly in all these formats is way fuckin' cool.”
