Nicko McBrain: New Iron Maiden Album Is Finished But On Hold

Friday, 27 February 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Nick McBrain has revealed that a new Iron Maiden record is in the can, but that its release has been delayed following news of Bruce Dickinson's treatment for cancer.

The drummer announced the news during an interview with Gater 98.7fm, confirming that the band's 16th album is "ready to go". He said (via Metal Hammer):

“We have made an album. It was ready to go this year – and still is. We were planning on going out and doing some work around the album. We’re all just holding on. Once Bruce is up and running, hopefully in the next couple of months… you never know when this might happen.”

Meanwhile, check out our feature on Iron Maiden's 'No Prayer For The Dying' here.
