Mavis Staples has shared a new song from her upcoming album, 'We Get By'.

The soul legend's upcoming 12th studio album was produced by Grammy Award-winner Ben Harper and is scheduled to arrive on May 10 via Anti- Records. The release will coincide with three celebratory shows commemorating her 80th birthday — in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Staples said:

"I’m the messenger. That’s my job — it has been for my whole life — and I cant just give up while the struggle's still alive. We’ve got more work to do, so I’m going to keep on getting stronger and keep on delivering my message every single day."

Harper added:

"I come from a family of Mavis fans. So her music has been woven into the fabric of my life from the very start. When I got the call for this gig, it felt like my entire career, everything I’d ever written, had been pre-production for this."

Anytime unfolds around a bass and guitar groove and follows the previously shared Change in previewing the record. Following the release, Staples will return to Europe for festival appearances and headline shows, including performances at Glastonbury and London's Roundhouse.
