The Hold Steady have shared the second track from their forthcoming album.

After Denver Haircut arrived last month, You Did Good Kid is the latest cut from ‘Thrashing Thru The Passion’, due for release on August 16 via Frenchkiss Records. The song continues the band’s rock-fuelled energy with a beguiling riff in the verse, then bringing it home for a punchy chorus complete with a horn section.

“You Did Good Kid is the first song we worked on for this session, and remains a favorite,” frontman Craig Finn commented. “It went through a few iterations before we came to this arrangement, and I’m really psyched on it. It feels great to play live.”

‘Thrashing Thru The Passion’ is the first album from the Hold Steady since 2014’s ‘Teeth Dreams’, and they’ll support the record with tour dates across North America in August, September and December.

Wed 20 Nov 2019
With the economics of the music industry in a prolonged state of flux, bands have found new ways to get by. Cold War Kids, who burst onto the American indie scene with ‘Robbers and Cowards’ in 2006, have decided to release three short albums instead of one full LP. ‘New Age Norms 1’ is the first in that series and to longtime fans the results will be pleasing.
