Falling Out Without Me is the latest from the indie band after Hurt My Heart arrived in September, and their fifth album ‘Five’ dropped earlier this year. The song centres around groove-pop sensibilities with the 1975-esque synths and guitars. Its accompanying lyric video follows the vocalist in braille.
Lyricist and bass player Charles Cave explained the track’s origins:
“Falling Out Without Me follows on the heels of Tokyo and having witnessed how our immersion into pure pop connected with our fanbase, come the summer and a gap in the touring schedule we decided to write and record two new songs. It’s a fairly abstract song about the feeling you’re losing yourself and becoming unhinged. Much like Tokyo, we wanted to write something with a lot of groove and a real ear-worm hook. It’s infectious, this one.”
The band are currently on a European tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album ‘To Lose My Life’. It will head to Manchester Academy and London’s Brixton O2 Academy in December.
