Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have dropped a new single.

Lyrically, Falling Thunder untangles concerns about the changing of the seasons, as a lo-fi, noodling bassline and bursts of raspy vocals make for a buoyant surf-rock number. The breezy track follows previously shared She's There and Cars In Space, marking the third cut to be taken from the Melbourne band’s forthcoming second LP, ‘Sideways To New Italy’, which will land on June 5 via Sub Pop.

Singer-guitarist Tom Russo said: ‘[Falling Thunder] is about pushing on through the relentless march of time, against the constant cycle of seasons. And the way people change and relationships change. It’s set in that time when autumn is turning into winter and the trees are getting bare."

The new single arrives with a video shot by Jamieson Moore, which offers up handheld footage from picturesque locations, including Sicily, Sardinia and the Aeolian Islands.

Speaking of the clip, Russo added: "Our friend Jamieson Moore shot the footage of Sicily, Sardinia and the Aeolian Islands on her phone while on vacation last year. The Aeolian Islands is also where my and Joe Russo's ancestors are from. We were also planning to shoot the band playing in Eolian Hall, Melbourne (it’s a community hall founded by Aeolian immigrants). We got some practice footage but by the time it came to shoot the band, we were on lockdown. So it’s turned out as a kind of a love letter to a particular place."

Elsewhere, the Australian rockers' last album came in the form of 2018's 'Hope Downs'.
