Tim Minchin has shared the title track of his debut studio album.
The Australian comedian and musical theatre composer has also confirmed that 'Apart Together' will arrive on November 20 through BMG.
The genre-bending, maudlin titular song was inspired by a story he heard on the radio about an elderly couple who died of hypothermia in their mobile home in eachother’s arms. It follows previous cuts I'll Take Lonely Tonight and Leaving LA. He said:
“From the outset, if you enter marriage wholly accepting that it’s a commitment to watching each other decay, there’s something far more beautiful in that than the greeting-card depiction of love that it’s overturning.”
Head below to listen to the track, the video will follow at 11am BST today (August 13).
