Mark Ronson And Diplo Enlist Ellie Goulding For New Silk City Single New Love

Silk City, the side project from Mark Ronson and Diplo, have enlisted Ellie Goulding for a new single.
New Love arrives following a recent teaser for the track posted by Ronson on social media. "And we're back. Heard you needed to dance?" the producer captioned his post on Twitter, which includes a 10-second snippet of the strings and synth-led, house-infused bop. Goulding also shared a similar clip.
The song is the first from the duo since their 2018 single Electricity featuring Dua Lipa. It comes with an Ana Sting-directed video which finds Goulding portraying a variety of different characters at the New Love club. Diplo said:
"I'm always stoked to get back in the studio with Mark. We’ve been constantly trading ideas since the start of Silk City and finally found the time to bring some of them to life. We came out with this classic house record and Ellie was kind enough to lend her voice to it."
Ronson added: "I love the music that comes out when Wes and I get together. It has a joy to it that’s different from everything else I work on. I’ve known Ellie for over ten years, and it’s great to finally get to make something together. Her voice has such a pure tone that cuts through everything."
"I've known Mark and Wes for years and it seemed only right to make a tune together, at a time where we all need to dance and be free, even if just in our kitchens,” Goulding explained. "The song is about losing yourself on your own, not needing to be seen, knowing that the one that got away could be just as happy as this too. The main concept is dancing on your own not needing to be seen."
Goulding put out her latest full-length, 'Brightest Blue', in 2020. She's due to support the record with a previously announced UK and Ireland tour in 2021. Tickets are on sale.
Ronson, meanwhile, released his latest LP, 'Late Night Feelings', in 2019, and Diplo dropped 'MMXX' and 'Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley, Chapter 1: Snake Oil' in 2020. The same year he also put out 'Music Is The Weapon' with Major Lazer.
