Bloodstock Reveal Line-Up Changes And Additions Including Dark Tranquillity And Defects

Monday, 11 April 2022 Written by Laura Johnson

Bloodstock have made some minor changes to the 2022 line-up.

Following news that Static-X have cancelled their 2022 European shows, organisers have confirmed that Dark Tranquillity will step in to headline the Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday. Elsewhere, with Tallah having to drop off the bill, they'll be replaced by Defects, fresh off tour with In Flames.

The UK's largest celebration of heavy music will take over Catton Park in Walton-on-Trent, Derbyshire in August, with Behemoth headlining the first day, Mercyful Fate topping Saturday's bill, and Lamb Of God closing the party on Sunday.

The team have also announced that Derbyshire LGBT+ and Sophie Lancaster Foundation will both have stalls at the festival this year. Derbyshire LGBT+ said:

"For 39 years Derbyshire LGBT+ has operated as the only charity in Derbyshire committed to the LGBT+ community of Derbyshire; offering support, advocacy, advice and empowerment. We are very proud to announce our attendance at Bloodstock this year, so that we can extend our reach even further and offer these services at an event that promotes inclusivity and acceptance. Our amazing staff and volunteers will be standing by and we encourage people to visit us, find out more and to see what we have to offer. Let’s put the 'Unity' in 'Community' together!"

Additionally, Bloodstock's Metal 2 The Masses initiative, which offers all genres of grassroots metal a chance to play the festival's New Blood stage, kicks off their final heats across 25 regions from May. 1
