Gogol Bordello have announced their eighth album.

Influenced by the ongoing conflict in frontman Eugene Hutz's native Ukraine, 'Solidaritine' will arrive on September 16 via Casa Gogol/Cooking Vinyl.

Produced by Walter Schreifels, it features a collaboration with H.R. of Bad Brains, and finds the band moving back to a harder punk sound. It'll also include a cover of Fugazi's Blueprint, alongside the newly unveiled breakneck track Focus Coin, which follows the previous single Forces Of Victory. Hutz said:

"The quality of your ability to focus defines everything in your life and that’s exactly what the first single, Focus Coin is about. Your focus is the hardest currency there is."

Commenting on the record, he added: "Our music was always about perseverance. Rock ‘n’ roll comes out of a real place. Take a group of people who have endured immigrant traumas and dislocation. They create music, get successful together, become more baroque and experimental, and experience some years of relative calm. All of a sudden, humankind encounters these problems like the pandemic and the war. This is when rock ‘n’ roll is the most necessary and where we perform the best."

Schreifels (Rival Schools, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand) added: "The album is really about uniting the people of goodwill. Releasing any kind of art that doesn’t address the situation in Ukraine right now would be pretty despicable."

Gogol Bordello will continue their Solidaritine Tour across North America in the fall. Head here for details.
