Bruce Springsteen Details 'Only The Strong Survive' Covers LP, Shares Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)

Bruce Springsteen has announced his new album, 'Only The Strong Survive'.
Having teased the release yesterday (September 28), The Boss has confirmed that the record will arrive on November 11 via Columbia.
It's billed as a collection of "15 soul music greats" and was recorded with the E Street Horns, producer Ron Aniello, and backing vocalists Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Michelle Moore, Curtis King Jr., Dennis Collins, and Fonzi Thornton. In addition, the album features guest vocals from Sam Moore. It's previewed by a cover of Frank Wilson's Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) below.
Springsteen commented: "I wanted to make an album where I just sang. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the Sixties and Seventies? I’ve taken my inspiration from Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jimmy Ruffin, the Iceman Jerry Butler, Diana Ross, Dobie Gray and Scott Walker, among many others. I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this glorious music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it."
It follows his 2020 album, 'Letter To You', and marks the musician's first collection of covers since 2006's 'We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions'.
Bruce Springsteen and The Street Band will hit the road in 2023, with North American shows scheduled for the winter and spring before European concerts in the spring and summer, including two huge gigs at London's BST Hyde Park in July.
