Dolly Parton has shared the first single from her upcoming rock album.
World On Fire marks the debut of the country icon's rock career, with 'Rockstar' scheduled to arrive on November 17 via Butterfly Records in conjunction with Big Machine Label Group.
The rock stomper finds the singer-songwriter unafraid to give some attitude: "Don't get me started on politics. Now, how are we to live in a world like this? Greedy politicians, present and past. They wouldn't know the truth if it bit 'em in the ass." Parton said:
"This is a song I felt very inspired to write. I think it speaks about everything and to everyone this day and time.
"I hope it is something that will touch you and maybe touch enough people to want to make a change for the better."
News of the 30-song LP comes six months after the 77-year-old was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. It's set to include collaborations with a variety of iconic singers, including Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Cher, Sting, Miley Cyrus, Debbie Harry and Richie Sambora, among others.
