Portugal. The Man have shared a new single.
Summer Of Luv features Unknown Mortal Orchestra and comes with an animated Andrew Ralph-directed video featuring new honorary band member Tank Dog.
The laid-back alt-pop track marks the fourth early single from the Portland-based group's new album, 'Chris Black Changed My Life, which is slated to arrive on June 23 via Atlantic Records. Lead singer John Gourley said:
"When we originally sat down to write Summer Of Luv we intended to make this heavy song with a big riff but the vocals came out chill because I was still recovering from my jaw problems, we realized it sat better in this space. The song turned out totally different than we intended."
He added: "As we were working on the song, it just felt like it needed another voice, Ruban from Unknown Mortal Orchestra also lives in Portland and is one of our favorite artists, he just fit perfectly in."
The follow-up to 2017's 'Woodstock' was produced by Jeff Bhaskeris and includes the previously unveiled cuts Champ and Dummy.
Portugal. The Man have shows lined up for the summer, including an appearance at Bonnaroo and headline gigs in Colorado, New York and Los Angeles.
