Madness Share New Single Baby Burglar

Friday, 27 October 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Madness have shared a new single, Baby Burglar.

The track serves as the latest preview of the Camden ska-pop legends' 13th studio album, 'Theatre of the Absurd Presents C'est La Vie', which is due out on November 17.

Built around a blend of organ, lively bossa nova-style percussion and horns, the infectious song is inspired by a real-life home invasion experienced by Madness saxophonist Lee Thompson. The group commented:

"The story behind Baby Burglar is actually quite a funny one… it's about Lee finding a midnight meddler loose in his house and how it reminded him of his younger self and all the shenanigans we used to get up to when we were whipper-snappers. Not long now until you can hear the whole of our new album 'Theatre of the Absurd presents C'est La Vie'."

It'll be joined on the record by the previously unveiled cuts C'Est La Vie, If I Go Mad and What On Earth Is It (You Take Me For?).

Madness will embark on their C’est La Vie UK Tour in December, which will see them performing at arena venues with special guests The Lightning Seeds. Tickets are on sale now. Head below for details.
