Following Freedom and Flowers, the soulful, strings-laden track serves as the third taster of the New Zealand-born, Australian-raised artist's fifth studio album, 'The Loop', which is due out on May 10.
In a reflection on personal growth, life's challenges and responsibilities as a father, husband, and human being, commenting on the inspiration behind the song, Rakei said:
"Bringing my son into the world, I’m conscious that there’s a lot I need to teach him, but also, how much I still have to learn, and how we’re constantly in this state of learning."
Rakei will support the LP with a UK and European tour in the autumn. Ahead of that, he'll play the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Manchester later in March, and Love Supreme in Lewes, Sussex in July.
