Miley Cyrus Teases 'Something Beautiful' With Prelude Video And Title Track

Tuesday, 01 April 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

Miley Cyrus has shared the first taste of music from her ninth studio album.

Prelude and the title track arrive with striking cinematic videos directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, with cinematography by Benoît Debie.

Presumably, Prelude will open 'Something Beautiful', which the singer-songwriter revealed last week will arrive as a visual project through Columbia on May 30. Head here for more details.

The video for the dramatic opener features Cyrus wearing archival 1997 Mugler couture, as seen on the album's cover art, delivering spoken word vocals over an ascending synth and string arrangement. The title track, meanwhile, builds through soulful vocals and jazz-orientated instrumentation before morphing into a more experimental, psychedelic-rock offering.

Cyrus compared the follow-up to 2023's 'Endless Summer Vacation' to Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', "but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture."
