Yungblud has announced a new double album.
The Doncaster singer-songwriter will release the first part, 'Idols', on June 20 and it will feature his recently shared singles Lovesick Lullaby and Hello Heaven, Hello. He describes it as, “A love letter to self-reclamation… to rock music… [and] to life; in all it’s f*cking madness.”
Elaborating on one of the record's themes, hero worship, he continued:
“We turn to others for an identity before turning to ourselves. Self-belief, self-reclamation, self-evolution and change. As we grow up, we lose our belief in magic and mystery. We begin to rationalise everything; our cage walls build up.
“We compare ourselves to 15 different people before we’ve even had our breakfast.”
Although Yungblud has confirmed 'Idols' is just the first part of the follow-up to his 2022 self-titled LP, he hasn't yet revealed the title or release date for the second.
Yungblud's Bludfest event will return to Milton Keynes Bowl on June 21, with Yungblud set to headline the bill, following sets from Chase Atlantic, Blackbear, Denzel Curry, Rachel Chinouriri, JXDN, Peach, PRC, Luvcat, Master Peace, Cliffords and more. Tickets are on sale now.
