Wolf Alice Tease 'The Clearing' With New Single The Sofa

Wolf Alice have shared another single from their upcoming fourth studio album.
A delicate piano-led ballad, with lush strings and ambient electronics, The Sofa marks the introspective second preview of 'The Clearing', due out on August 22 via RCA/Sony. Introducing the track, vocalist Ellie Rowsell explained:
"It’s about not trying so hard to figure everything out, reflecting on getting older and trying not to agonise over things that have or haven’t happened in your life. It’s also about trying to get to grips with the polarising aspects of one’s life when you’re in a band. You’ve just played a huge tour - and you come home, and you have your dinner on the sofa. For me, it’s summed up in how I treat TV. I used to never watch the same thing twice because I thought I’ve got so much to discover! And now I’m like, It's okay if I just want to rewatch Peep Show for the thirteenth time."
The North London band previously teased the follow-up to 2021's 'Blue Weekend' with the single, Bloom Baby Bloom, which arrived alongside initial details of the record in May.
Following world-beating festival performances at Primavera and Glastonbury last month, Wolf Alice will support the LP with previously scheduled North American, European and UK tour dates later this year. Tickets are on sale now. In the UK, £1 from every ticket sold will benefit the grassroots music sector and help support emerging artists.
