Megadeth have shared the first single from their forthcoming final studio album.
Packed with ferocious thrashy riffs, white-knuckle drumming, and Dave Mustaine's signature snarl, Tipping Point sets the tone for the Grammy-winning band's self-titled 17th album, due out on January 23 via Mustaine's Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group's new BLKIIBLK label.
Head below to view the track's accompanying Leonardo Liberti-directed video, which shows Mustaine locked up in prison, being tortured, while the band performs around him. He said:
"We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day. I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down."
One of thrash metal's legendary "big four" — alongside Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica — Megadeth previously announced a worldwide farewell tour for 2026 with a video featuring skull-faced mascot Vic Rattlehead speaking for the first time. Further details on that are to be revealed soon.
In the meantime, Megadeth will tour Europe and the UK with Disturbed this autumn as part of the latter's The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour. Tickets are on sale now.
