Peter Hook & The Light have announced a special summer show in Manchester.
The Salford-born musician, co-founder of Joy Division and New Order, will play "a career-spanning, retrospective set" at Manchester Academy on June 4. It will include material from Warsaw, Joy Division, New Order, Revenge, Monaco, Freebass and more.
The gig will be a celebration of Hook's 50 years in music, which began after he attended an inspiring Sex Pistols show. Support will come from Buzzcocks and tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (December 5).
Next year will also see Peter Hook & The Light tour mainland Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, as well as supporting OMD at various summer UK shows, playing festivals such as Bearded Theory, and supporting The Damned at their 50th anniversary show at the OVO Arena Wembley on April 11. Tickets for those dates are already on sale.
Hook's last record release was the 2022 live LP 'Joy Division: A Celebration (Live)'.
