Arlo Parks Announces Third Album 'Ambiguous Desire' With Lead Single 2SIDED

Arlo Parks has announced her third album.
'Ambiguous Desire', the follow-up to 2023's 'My Soft Machine', will arrive through Transgressive Records on April 3 and features a duet with South London artist Sampha on the track Senses.
To coincide with the announcement, the Mercury Prize-winner has shared the single 2SIDED, which marks a notable switch in style, showcasing a synth-laden, dance-infused sound. Head below to view the song's video, directed by Molly Burdett.
"At its core 2SIDED is about yearning and tension," Parks explained. "It’s about being struck by a bolt of desire and building up the courage to put language to that feeling, to make it real." Continuing to discuss the record, she added:
"I danced more than ever as I made this record, I made more friends than ever too, found myself in the weird underbelly of New York juke nights, unleashed, laughed and laughed and laughed.
"This record has desire at its center. Desire is a life force, it’s a wanting, a yearning, a momentum — we are all alive because there is something or someone we want — desire is an engine. But it is also mysterious, tangled, random, enlightening and HUMAN."
Parks will accompany the album's release with out-store UK shows throughout April, tickets for which are on sale now.
Since her last album, the singer-songwriter has released a poetry collection, The Magic Border: Poetry and Fragments From My Soft Machine.
