Lyra—real name Laura McNamara—is a singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland.
First dipping her toes into the music industry in 2004, she appeared as a contestant on series two of singing competition programme You're a Star, aged 11, and placed seventh in the live shows. She has since released a handful of EPs, with the most recent being a remix compilation titled 'Edge Of Seventeen (Anton Powers Remixes)' in 2022. In 2021, she was announced as a judge on Virgin Media One talent show, The Big Deal, alongside Boy George, Aston Merrygold, Deirdre O'Kane and Jedward. Lyra is set to tour the UK in April 2023, before a headline show at the 3Olympia Theatre Dublin in May, in aid of Focus Ireland.
