Phosphorescent is the working moniker of American singer-songwriter Matthew Houck. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Houck began recording and performing under Phosphorescent in 2001, and hasn't looked back.
His debut album, 'A Hundred Times or More' dropped in 2003, followed by his second Warm Records release 'The Weight of Flight' EP a year later. Another album later, he signed to Dead Oceans Records and went on to release 5 more albums, the latest being 2013's 'Muchacho', and a live album in 2015. His music has been featured on a variety of compilation albums and television soundtracks too.
In 2018, he plays a range of US festivals, and will head to the UK for a trio of headline shows in October. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.

In the five years since the release of Phosphorescent’s ‘Muchacho’, Matthew Houck has been busy. He got married to musician Jo Schornikow, became a father, moved from New York to Nashville, rented a warehouse, built a studio from scratch with a salvaged ‘70s console, got really ill, survived, wrote an album, recorded an album, and subsequently released an album. It’s called ‘C’est la Vie’, and it’s different.
