American Hip-Hop artist Lil Wayne has announced his first tour since his release from prison two months ago.
The 28-year-old rapper has announced a 25-date arena tour of the United States, kicking off on March 18th and going right through to April 29th – but extra dates are expected to be added, with fans rushing to get tickets to see his first live appearances since he left prison. He is also lined up to play at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey this year.
Wayne has a whole load of top notch support acts lined up for the massive tour, including Mix Master Mike, Travis Barker, Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj. He has also planned to release his newest album after he finishes this widely anticipated tour, titled ‘The Carter IV’.
Real name Dwayne Carter Jr., he served eight months at Riker’s Island jail for admitting possession of a loaded gun on his tour bus. He was originally given a one-year sentence, but was released after eight months due to good behaviour.
Keeping his true ‘gangsta’ persona up, he told fans “I was never scared, worried nor bothered by the situation behind bars.”
