Jessie J Stands Firm On Top Of UK Singles Chart

Brits Critics’ Choice winner Jessie J has made it two weeks at Number One in the UK singles chart with ‘Price Tag’.

The singer claimed her second week on the top spot last night (February 13th), beating off competition from Chipmunk and a late entry from Lady Gaga. Young rapper Chipmunk entered the chart at Number Two with 'Champion', his collaboration with R&B star Chris Brown.

It could be predicted, however, that it will be Jessie J’s last week on the top spot: Lady Gaga made an impressive surge to gain the Number Three position, despite only releasing her single on Friday afternoon (February 11th). The singer sold over 60,000 copies of ‘Born This Way’ in just 34 hours, while both Jessie J and Chipmunk sold around 90,000 copies after a whole week of sales.

In terms of the albums chart, Adele is still holding firm at the Number One position with her second LP ‘21’. The singer managed to avoid competition from The Streets, who entered at Number Eight with ‘Computers And Blues’ and post-dubstep protégé James Blake who earned the Number Nine spot with his self-titled album.
