Queen Frontman Quotes Taken 'Out Of Context', Say Adam Lambert

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has reportedly denied being the new frontman of legendary rockers Queen, just a couple of days after it was widely-reported that he would be joining the band on tour.
The Daily Star among other sources ‘revealed’ that Lambert had impressed Brian May so much during their MTV EMA appearances together last year, that the rest of the band had decided to ask Lambert to join them – where they’d go on tour and play at this summer’s Sonisphere Festival.
But, it appears the singer hasn’t actually been signed up for the group, and was simply misquoted by journalists for the tabloid paper.
“Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes out of context. I haven't confirmed any guest appearances I was talking about the EMA's.”
The Daily Star originally quoted Lambert as saying: “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.
“After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of backlash from people saying: 'You can't replace Freddie Mercury.' But I already knew that. There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honour and one I'm in no way going to shirk.”
