Reading Festival Returns To Summit Of Stereoboard's Hot Ticket Chart

Friday, 23 August 2013 Written by Stereoboard.com

After a week away from top spot, Reading Festival is once again at the summit of Stereoboard's Hot Ticket Chart. This weekend's smorgasbord of alternative delights was briefly toppled by Avicii last week, with demand for the DJ's Glasgow and Belfast shows this week keeping him in second spot.

Rock giants Fleetwood Mac are up two places and sit at number three prior to their September arena run, while those boyband types in One Direction have climbed four places to land at number four. Rounding out the top five is Rod Stewart, with demand still high for his London O2 Arena and Glasgow runs in September and October.

American soul sensation Bruno Mars is sitting pretty at number six, just ahead of two more festival favourites from this weekend: Leeds and Creamfields. Green Day – who will headline Reading and Leeds this weekend – were also big sellers this week as they played a rare theatre show at London's Brixton Academy.

Completing the top 10 is Bestival, where Elton John, Snoop Dogg and Fatboy Slim will take the stage in September, with Leonard Cohen slipping to number 11 ahead of his forthcoming arena tour. Rubber-faced funnyman Lee Evans is one place below Cohen, with Pink Floyd star Roger Waters' still going strong ahead of his September stadium shows.

Soft rock giants Foreigner are a new entry at number 14 prior to their UK tour next year, with Imagine Dragons also gatecrashing proceedings after announcing a new London date to complement their November shows. Arctic Monkeys have retained their space in the top 20 as their arena tour draws ever nearer, with V Festival at number 17. Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 edition of the event after Kings of Leon and Beyonce headlined last weekend.

At number 18 is the legendary Bob Dylan, who will play three nights at the Royal Albert Hall as part of his November tour, with classical giant Andre Rieu and alt-pop darlings Bastille completing this week's chart.
