Metallica Confirm 'S&M' 20th Anniversary Concert With San Francisco Symphony Orchestra

Metallica will play a one-off concert with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to mark the 20th anniversary of 'S&M'.
The show, billed as S&M², forms part of the opening celebrations of the new multi-purpose 18,000-plus capacity Chase Centre venue in San Francisco on September 6. It will see the thrash icons reuniting with the orchestra who accompanied them on the 1999 live album and DVD. The band wrote on social media:
"We're honored to take part in the Grand Opening of the Chase Center in San Francisco as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of S&M! Join us at what is sure to become a cultural landmark in the Bay Area for S&M² alongside the San Francisco Symphony with Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas."
Metallica released their latest LP, 'Hardwired… to Self-Destruct', in 2016 and return to Europe this spring. They also tour Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot in October.
