Elvis Costello Shares Snarling New Track No Flag

Friday, 05 June 2020 Written by Huw Baines

Elvis Costello has shared a new track.

No Flag is an angular, off kilter piece of art-punk starring a superbly bratty chorus. It was recorded following three days’ work with Eetu Seppälä and Tim Mikkkola at Suomenlinnan Studio near Helsinki. "I wanted to go somewhere nobody knew me,” Costello said. “So, this is 'The Helsinki Sound.’”

Costello’s most recent album with his band the Impostors was 2018’s ‘Look Now’. No Flag represents a more solitary affair, with Costello credited for “mouth, drum, Fender Jazzmaster, Hammond Organ and bass."
